2 cups rolled oats
1 cup Shredded coconut
1 cup butter (softened)
½ cup superfine caster sugar
¼ cup dark Muscovado sugar
2 eggs
4 Tbsps milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 Tbsps cocoa powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp mini sugar heart (or balls)

Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/400°F/gas 6. Spread the oats and coconut on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 8 minutes until golden brown. Stir once or twice during the baking time.

Cream together the butter and both the sugars. Beat in the eggs and milk. Sieve over the flour, cocoa powder and bicarbonate of soda. Mix well then add the oats and coconut.

Line a baking tray with baking parchment. Divide the dough into 12. With lightly wetted hands, shape into fat disks and place on the tray. Grease the base of a flat-bottomed glass and use to flatten the cookies to about 1.5cm thick. Insert a lolly stick into each cookie. Sprinkle over the sugar hearts.
4.
Bake in the oven for about 10–15 minutes. Leave to cool on the tray.
