butter for the tart cases
1 sheetPuff pastry quartered, thawed if frozen
2onions finely sliced into rings
1 ½ cupsgrated Parmesan cheese
¾ cupsdry-cured ham diced (e. g. schinkenspeck)
2eggs
⅜ cupsmilk
⅔ cupsfresh breadcrumbs
2large Apple cut into thin wedges

Directions

1 Heat the oven to 170°C (150°C in a fan oven), 350°F, gas 4.
2 Brush four oven-proof dishes (approx. 12 cm in diameter) with butter and line each with a sheet of puff pastry.
3 Mix together the onions, parmesan, ham, eggs, milk and breadcrumbs. Divide this between the pastry cases and top with the apple wedges. Bake in the oven for approx. 30 minutes until golden brown.
