- Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Mustard seed
- Oil (to brush the grill wok or vegetable grate)
- 7 ½ cups Brussels sprouts (washed; trimmed and thickly sliced)
- 6 shallots (peeled and finely chopped)
- 1 cup roasted Chestnuts (halved)
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
- 2 Tbsps butter (melted)
- salt (to taste)
- freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)
- 1 ½ Tbsps fresh lemon juice
Preparation steps
1.
Set up the grill for direct grilling and preheat to high. Preheat a grill wok, basket or vegetable grate on the grill.
2.
In a small dry skillet, stir mustard seeds over medium-low heat until lightly toasted and popping, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat source and cool.
3.
Place the Brussels sprouts into a large microwave safe mixing bowl and heat on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the shallots, chestnuts, olive oil, butter, salt and pepper and toss to combine.
4.
Brush the wok, basket or vegetable grate with oil. Place the Brussels sprouts mixture in the grill wok, basket or on a vegetable grate. Grill for about 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently until the mixture is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
5.
Return grilled vegetables to the original mixing bowl and toss with any remaining olive oil and butter. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with toasted mustard seeds. Serve.
