Preparation steps

1.

Cook 5 eggs for 5 minutes, color with the red dye, then rub with oil.

2.

Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle. Mix the yeast with 6 tablespoons of lukewarm water and pour into the well. Sprinkle with flour from the edges, cover and allow to rise for 30 minutes in a warm place. Add the melted butter, sugar and three eggs and knead vigorously. Add the orange zest and juice and anise seed. Shape into a ball and let rise, covered, for 1 hour. Grease a baking sheet. Knead the dough on a floured surface and set one-third aside. Form the rest into a loaf of 30 cm length (approximately 12 inches) and place onto the baking sheet.

Divide the remaining dough into four strands. Mold the strands into the same length as the bigger loaf, wrap two around each other and press the ends together at the sides of the loaf (this creates decorate on both sides of the large loaf).

Mix egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of water and brush the bread. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Let rest 15 minutes. Press 5 wells into the bread and put in the colored eggs. Bake in the oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for 35 minutes.
