- 4 Tbsps Yeast
- 2 ¼ tsps Dried yeast
- 4 ⅓ cups Bread flour
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 2 eggs
- ⅔ cup lukewarm milk
- 1 cup chopped Walnut
- 2 ½ cups carrots (finely grated)
- 2 egg yolks (beaten)
- 12 Walnut

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6 and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.
2.
Dissolve the yeast in 125 ml lukewarm water and mix together the flour with the sugar and a pinch of salt. Create a well in the middle and pour in the yeast mixture. Dust with a little flour and leave to rise in a warm place for around 15 min.

Add the butter, eggs, milk, chopped nuts and the carrots and knead into a smooth dough. If the dough is too moist, knead in a little more flour, if it is too dry add a little more lukewarm water. Cover and leave to rise for 1 hour.
4.
Knead the dough well once more and break into 12 equal pieces. Shape in to buns and place next to each other in a circle on the prepared baking tray. Brush with the egg yolk and press one walnut half into each bun.
5.
Bake for around 40 min, and then remove from the oven and leave to cool.
