softened butter (for greasing the pan)
4 ozs Walnut
5 Tbsps butter
3 ripe Banana
8 ozs sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla
1 egg
6 ½ ozs Buckwheat flour
1 tsp Baking powder
½ tsp salt
3 Tbsps milk
1 oz Walnut (slivers)
3 Tbsps raw sugar

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Grease a loaf pan with butter.

Coarsely chop the walnuts. Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Mash the bananas until smooth and mix with the melted butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and egg. Sift together the buckwheat flour, baking powder and salt and stir into the banana mixture alternately with the milk. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the chopped walnuts and raw sugar. Allow to cool slightly, slice and serve.
