- 1 kilogram Apple (such as Cox Orange)
- 1 onion
- 40 grams candied ginger
- 50 grams
- 1 Tbsp Mustard seed
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- 125 milliliters White vinegar
- 600 grams brown Rock candy
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar

Preparation steps

Peel, core, quarter and thinnly slice the apples. Peel and finely chop the onion. Cut the candied ginger into thin slices. Cut the pickled plums into strips.

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and stir together. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for 10-20 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. A longer boiling can result in a more solid consistency.
3.
Immediately fill the prepared jars to the brim with the chutney. Seal the jars and flip upside down for 5 minutes. Then turn back over and leave to cool.
