800 grams waxy potatoes
1 Tbsp softened butter
1 garlic clove
300 milliliters Whipped cream

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C upper and lower heat.

Peel and rinse potatoes, cut into thin slices. Butter baking dish with softened butter.  Layer potatoes in a dish. Peel garlic and squeeze through a garlic press. Add cream to garlic and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour cream over potatoes so that potato slices are just covered.

Bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. If gratin browns too qiuckly, cover with aluminum foil; if it is too light, increase oven temperature. Remove from oven and serve.
