1 garlic clove
1 kilogram waxy potatoes
2 eggs
500 milliliters milk
50 grams Double cream
salt
freshly ground peppers
150 grams Gruyere (grated)
4 small Casserole dishes
butter (for the ramekins)

Preparation steps

1.

Peel garlic clove. Rub ramekins with garlic and butter. Rinse and peel potatoes, cut into very thin slices. Arrange potato slices in ramekins and season with salt and pepper.  

2.

Whisk eggs, milk and double cream and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve.
