Preparation steps

Bring a pan of water to a boil and carefully put in the eggs, using a spoon. Boil for 3 minutes (for soft-boiled) then carefully take the eggs out of the pan, using a slotted spoon.

Heat the grill (or use a toaster). Toast the bread on both sides until golden brown.

Put the eggs into egg cups and slice off the tops.

Spread the butter on the toast, cut into fingers and serve with the eggs.
