A chocolate cake will probably never be one of the healthiest recipes. However, we can still benefit from the wholemeal flour we use because it provides us with fibre and important minerals. In addition, the vanilla and cocoa contain secondary plant substances that can counteract stress and anxiety.
Serve the simple chocolate cake for the springform pan as a dessert, then you can serve some whipped cream and fruit (strawberries, physalis or blueberries) with it. The chocolate cake can also be enjoyed in the afternoon during a coffee klatch with friends.

- 200 grams butter
- 7 tablespoons Cocoa
- 220 grams Pastry flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 280 grams sugar
- 1 Vanilla bean
- 2 eggs
- 150 grams acidic Whipped cream
Melt the butter in a pan. Stir in the cocoa and 125 ml (approximately 1/2 cup) of water. Preheat the oven to 175°C (approximately 350°F).
Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Add the vanilla to the mixture.
Thoroughly mix the flour with the cocoa butter, eggs and cream. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Stir the powdered sugar with 5 tablespoons of water. Melt the butter. Stir the butter, cocoa and powdered sugar. Coat the cake with the glaze. Serve decorated with chocolate curls.
