- 2 slices Bacon (diced)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 1 red chili pepper
- 4 large Mushrooms
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- salt
- freshly ground Black pepper
- 8 cups Penne
- 2 Tbsps grated Parmesan
- 4 sprigs Basil
Preparation steps

Fry the bacon in a dry skillet until crisp. Remove and put aside. Peel and finely chop the garlic and the onion. Wash the chilli pepper, cut in half lengthways, de-seed, then cut into fine strips.

Clean the mushrooms and cut into slices. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Saute the onion, garlic and chilli. Add the drained tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cover with a lid and simmer gently for 15 minutes.

Add the mushrooms about 5 minutes before the end of cooking time. Now stir in the bacon and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Cook the pasta in boiling, salted water according to the instructions on the packet until al dente. Drain, the toss in the sauce. Serve with a little grated parmesan cheese and garnish with a few basil leaves.
