Rinse the cherry tomatoes and cut into small pieces. Peel and chop the onion. Peel the garlic and finely chop 2 cloves.
Mix the tomatoes, onions, chopped garlic and basil with the vinegar and olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Toast the slices of bread until light brown and while still hot, grate the remaining garlic cloves on one side.
Arrange on a plate. Spread the tomato mixture on the bread slices and serve immediately.
