Bratwurtschnecke (Coiled Sausages) with Polenta

- 4 coiled sausages
- 1 lemon
- 4 Tomatoes
- 1 shallot
- 1 Tbsp White vinegar
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- Basil
Preparation steps
For the polenta, peel and chop the onion. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a pan and sauté the onions over medium heat, pour in 500 ml (approximately 2 cups) of water, add the remaining oil and stir in the polenta.
Bring polenta to a boil, while stirring, and let simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the butter and season with salt and pepper.
Cut the lemon into quarters and again in half crosswise. Pierce the sausage with 2 halved lemon quarters onto metal skewers and grill about 4 minutes on both sides.
Rinse the tomatoes, cut into quarters, remove seeds and cut into cubes. Peel the shallot and finely chop. Mix both with vinegar and oil and season with salt and pepper.
Serve the polenta on plates with the grilled coiled sausages and tomato salad and garnish with basil.
