Preparation
Kitchen utensils
1 Pot, 1 Lid, 1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 kleine Fork, 1 Plate, 1 Small pot, 1 Sieve, 1 Bowl, 1 Tablespoon
Preparation steps
1.
Scrub the clams, discarding any that stay open when tapped sharply.
2.
Put the clams and water into a pan, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until all the shells have opened. Discard any clams which have not opened. Set aside. Strain the clam juices from the pan through a sieve lined with kitchen paper and reserve the liquid.
3.
Heat the oil in a pan and cook the celery, pepper and onion until starting to soften. Add the garlic and cook until the vegetables are tender but not browned.
4.
Stir in the wine and clam liquid and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. If the mixture is too thick add a little more wine or water.
5.
Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions. Drain well and mix with the sauce.
6.
Divide the clams and spaghetti between warmed serving plates and garnish with thyme.
