Product recommendation
If you have more biscuits than guests, you can serve the remaining ones with tea or wrap them up as guest gifts.

Preparation steps

1.
Mix together the butter, sugar, salt, orange zest and the vanilla seeds until creamy. Stir in the egg and the egg white and add the flour and the cornflour. Knead well.
2.
Split the dough in half and add the cocoa powder and 1 tbsp milk to one half. Wrap both halves in cling film and chill for one hour.
3.
Roll out both doughs on a floured work surface approx. 5 mm thick so that they are the same size. Brush one with egg white and place the other one top. Cut them in half, brush one half with egg white and place the other half on top again. Freeze for approx. 1 hour.
4.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160°C in a fan oven), 375°F, gas 5 and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
5.
Place the biscuit sheet on the prepared baking tray and bake for around 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately cut into sticks (1.5 x 10 cm). Leave to cool.
6.
To decorate, chop the chocolate and melt in a bain marie. Stir in the butter and leave to cool slightly and then brush onto the sticks. Leave to dry.
7.
For the writing, mix together the icing sugar and the lemon juice into a thick paste. Transfer into a piping bag (or a freezer bag with the corner cut off) and write names on each one.
