Beets are a rich source of antioxidants, which help protect the body's cells against free radical damage, which can cause everything from premature aging to certain types of cancer.
If you don't have grapefruit, orange is a good substitute.

- 2 white Grapefruit (peeled and segmented)
- 3 cups cooked Beets (in juice)
- 1 small Banana (chopped)
- 1 cup Orange juice
- ½ cup crushed Ice
- mint (leaves picked)

Try different combinations of white, red, and pink grapefruit for different flavours.
Preparation steps
1.
Combine the grapefruit segments, beetroot and juice, banana, and orange juice in a food processor or blender.

Blend on high for 2 minutes. Stir in the crushed ice and a tablespoon of mint leaves, blending again for a further minute.
3.
Pour into glasses and garnish with the remaining mint leaves before serving.
