Bananas are a great fitness food because of their high magnesium content, which helps support healthy muscle function. Additionally, the short-chain carbohydrates from bananas and figs provide the energy you need during a workout.

Instead of figs, other sweet fruits such as pears also taste great in this smoothie.

4 ripe Figs

14 ozs Buttermilk
10 ozs Still mineral water

Preparation steps

1.

Peel bananas. Cut some slices and cut remaining into small cubes. Sprinkle banana with lime juice and set aside. 

2.

Cut figs in half and remove pulp. Slice vanilla beans in half lengthwise and scrape out seeds with a knife. Puree fig pulp, banana cubes, vanilla seeds, cinnamon and buttermilk in a blender and then stir in mineral water.

3.

Pour banana fig smoothie into large cups or glasses and serve garnished with banana slices.
