Preparation

Kitchen utensils

1 Pot, 1 Skillet, 1 Small bowl, 1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Sieve

Preparation steps

1.
Divide the prepared asparagus into four bundles. Tie each bundle with kitchen twine.
2.
Bring 3 quarts of salted water to a boil, in a tall, narrow stock port. Stand the four asparagus bundles upright in the boiling water, making sure the tips are out of the water. Cover and cook until the asparagus is al dente (tender but firm), or about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the asparagus.
3.
Melt the butter in a small pan until lightly browned. Drain the asparagus and remove the kitchen twine. Divide toasted Italian bread between four plates. Place asparagus on top of bread. Drizzle melted butter over the plated asparagus. Season with freshly ground pepper and Parmesan cheese.
