4 cups light Red wine
cup white wine
1 unwaxed Orange (peel)
4 cloves
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Cardamom (crushed)
1 Star anise
1 pc fresh ginger (about 1.5 cm peeled and sliced)
¼ cup light brown sugar (more if desired)
To serve
Cinnamon stick

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the red and white wine, orange peel, spices and ginger in a pan until just below boiling point.
2.
Sweeten to taste with brown sugar. Cover and leave to stand for 10-15 minutes.
3.
Reheat gently, then strain into cups and and place a cinnamon stick in each cup.
