Walnut Tart
Ingredients
- For the pastry
- 100 grams Pastry flour
- 50 grams Whole wheat flour
- 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
- 125 grams butter
- 1 Tbsp ice cold water
- For the topping
- 3 eggs
- 4 Tbsps Sugar syrup
- 3 Tbsps butter
- ½ tsp Vanilla powder
- 150 grams Walnut
- 150 grams Macadamia Nuts
Preparation steps
For the pastry: mix two flours. Combine flour, cold butter, powdered sugar and water, quickly knead into smooth pastry and shape into a ball, wrap in foil and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Butter tart pan. Roll out pastry between two layers of plastic wrap and line tart pan with it, making an edge all around. Prick several times with a fork, cover with paper and weigh down with legumes. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 15 minutes. Take out of the oven and remove legumes and paper. Cool.
For the topping: melt butter and cool. Beat eggs, gradually add syrup, vanilla powder and melted butter. Spread mixture on pastry and sprinkle with nuts. Bake for 25 minutes more or until golden brown. Remove from the oven, cool and serve.
