- 24 fresh Basil
- 1 loaf italian Bread
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic cloves
- coarse salt (to taste)
- freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)

Toast the bread as close as possible to serving time.
Preparation steps

Cut the tomatoes in half. Scoop out the seeds, sprinkle with salt, and set them upside down for a few minutes to drain.

Chop the drained tomatoes in small cubes. Add chopped onion and basil, mix to combine. Set aside.
3.
Preheat broiler. Adjust the oven rack so it is about 4 inches from the heating element. Slice the bread about 1/2-inch thick. Broil the bread on both sides until golden brown. Brush both sides with olive oil and rub with garlic cloves. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
4.
Arrange tomato mixture on the toast. Drizzle with the remaining oil; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Serve.
