Ingredients

For the dumplings:
150 grams Pastry flour
1 pinch salt
1 tsp Dry yeast
1 Tbsp sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
5 Tbsps milk
25 grams butter
1 small egg
powdered sugar (for dusting)
For strawberries
750 grams Strawberries
2 Tbsps sugar
2 packets Vanilla sugar
150 grams Crème fraiche
mint (to garnish)

Preparation steps

For the dumplings, mix flour with salt, dried yeast, sugar and vanilla in a bowl. Heat milk with butter in a saucepan. Add milk mixture and egg to the bowl and mix. Knead flour mixture with the  dough hook of an electric mixer until smooth. Cover and let rest for 15-20 minutes in a warm place.

Shape dumpling dough into 4 balls with floured hands and place each ball in cups. Let rest for 5-10 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 20 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar.

For the strawberries, rinse strawberries, trim and halve or quarter depending on size. Mix strawberries in a bowl with sugar and vanilla and allow to rest briefly.

Serve strawberries on a small plate with creme fraiche and dumplings and garnished with mint.
