Ingredients
2 inches
thick cut, strip Steak (New York)
3 tablespoons
kosher salt
cracked Black pepper
3 tablespoons
extra virgin olive oil (divided)
10
Asparagus (spears)
2 tablespoons

Preparation steps

1.
Pat the steaks dry. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire and salt and pepper to both sides of each strip steak.
2.
Place the asparagus on a foiled lined baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil and lemon juice over the asparagus and season with salt and pepper to taste.
3.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place the asparagus in the oven.
4.
Place a cast iron pan or stainless pan (oven safe) over medium high heat. Drizzle the 1 tablespoon of olive oil into pan. When the pan is super hot add the steaks. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until a good crust forms. Flip over and immediately and shut off the heat to the pan. Put the pan into the oven. Cook for 4-5 minutes for rare and 5-7 minutes for medium rare or medium. When done, remove the steak and asparagus from the oven. Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
