- 400 grams Strawberries
- 150 grams sugar
- 2 Tbsps lemon juice
- 200 milliliters milk
- 200 milliliters Whipped cream
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 Meringue (from bakery)

Preparation steps
1.
Rinse and chop strawberries, combine strawberries with 50 grams (approximately 1/4 cup) sugar and lemon juice and let stand for about 30 minutes.

Heat milk and cream in a saucepan. In the meantime, beat egg yolks with remaining sugar until white and fluffy. Pour hot milk into yolk mixture and stir over a hot water bath until mixture thickens. Do not allow to boil!

Mash strawberries with a fork and add into egg yolk mixture along with sugary lemon juice. Allow to cool to room temperature then freeze for at least 5 hours. Stir well with whisk every 30 minutes during first 3 hours of freezing. Crumble meringue and stir into ice cream.
4.
If using ice cream machine, fill with strawberry mixture after cooling and stir in meringue to form ice cream.
