100 grams softened butter
100 grams cane sugar
75 grams sugar beet syrup
450 grams Pastry flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 tsps ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cloves
1 egg
For decoration
100 grams powdered sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Food coloring

Preparation steps

For the dough, melt the butter, turbinado sugar and corn syrup slowly in a pan. Pour the butter mixture into the flour and mix in the baking powder, salt, ground ginger, cloves and egg. Knead to a smooth dough.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into about 4 mm thin and cut out reindeer-shaped cookies (10 cm) (approximately 4 inches) from it, if desired. Put the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan: 160°C, gas mark 2-3) (approximately 350°F) for about 15 minutes.

To decorate, mix the icing sugar with lemon juice, and mix with food color of your choice. Decorate the baked cookies with it.
