- 250 grams Sugar syrup
- 100 grams brown sugar
- 250 milliliters milk
- 350 grams Rye flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
- cloves (and cardamom)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsps Rock sugar

Preparation steps
1.
Warm the syrup, sugar and milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let cool slightly.

Combine the flour, baking powder and spices, add to the syrup mixture and knead with the dough hook attachment until smooth. Grease and flour a 25 x 11 cm (approximately 10 x 4 inch) loaf pan, fill with the batter, smooth the surface and sprinkle with the rock candy.
3.
Bake in a preheated oven 150°C (approximately 300°F) for 55 minutes. Let cool slightly in the pan then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
