- ½ cup butter
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
- 3 Tbsps light corn syrup
- 2 ½ cups rolled oats
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 eating Apple
- 2 Tbsps Sunflower seed
- To decorate
- 3 Tbsps Golden syrup
- 1 eating Apple (thinly sliced)

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Grease a 20cm|8" square tin.
2.
Melt the butter, sugar and syrup together in a large pan over a low heat. Remove from the heat.
3.
Stir in the oats and cinnamon. Grate the apples, (unpeeled) into the mixture, add the sunflower seeds and stir well.
4.
Press evenly into the tin, smoothing with the back of a spoon. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden.
5.
Cool in the tin for 10 minutes then cut into 12-16 pieces while still warm.
6.
To decorate: heat the golden syrup in a small frying pan. Add the apple slices and poach in the syrup over a medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
7.
Place the syrup soaked apple slices on top of the flapjacks.
