Do not be stingy with basil, because this aromatic kitchen herb has a lot to offer! For example, by stimulating the production of bile, basil supports digestion. Various secondary plant substances intercept free radicals and help to keep the body's cells healthy.

If you leave out the parmesan, this classic pasta dish is quickly transformed into a vegan delicacy. The spaghetti in the wholemeal variant is also available.

50 milliliters olive oil

500 grams Spaghetti
Parmesan (for serving, grated)

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse chile pepper, cut in half, remove seeds and ribs and cut into small cubes. Peel garlic and cut into thin slices.

Cook pasta according to package directions in a pot of salted water until al dente.

Heat oil in a frying pan and saute garlic and chile peppers until softened (do not brown) and season lightly with salt and pepper. Drain pasta, add to frying pan and mix briefly. Season to taste again with salt and pepper and, if necessary, add a little oil. Serve on warmed plates garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
