Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
2.
Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl, then set aside.
3.
Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy, then beat in the egg and vanilla.
4.
Gradually beat into the sifted dry ingredients to form a stiff dough.
5.
Roll the dough into 20 balls, then place on the baking trays, spaced well apart. Press several chocolate beans into each ball and flatten the balls slightly.
6.
Bake for 15 minutes until pale golden brown. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
