finely chopped Chives
- 1 tablespoon
finely chopped thyme
- 1 tablespoon
finely, chopped parsley

egg (beaten)
Preparation steps
1.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a baking tray.

Sift the flour, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the herbs.

Gradually stir in the milk and enough water to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly until smooth.
4.
Roll or pat out to 1" thick. Cut into rounds with a floured 2" cutter. Lightly knead together the trimmings and cut out more rounds
5.
Place on the baking tray and brush the tops with beaten egg. Bake for about 20 minutes until well risen and golden. Cool on the baking tray for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
