Preparation steps

1.

Preheat oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F)

The chestnuts can either be left whole or carved slightly with a sharp knife, making sure not to damage the inside. Either placing in preheated oven, or chestnuts can be roasted over camp fire for about 15 minutes. Occasionally, rotate chesnuts to prevent burning.

3.

If roasting in oven, place chestnuts on a sheet tray with parchment paper about 20 minutes. It is optional to lightly sprinkle chestnuts with water to become more moist.
