- 71 ozs baking potatoes (peeled, soaked in cold water)
- 1 peeled onion
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (beaten)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- vegetable oil (for frying)

- apple sauce
- Sour cream

1 Measuring cups, 1 Pot mit Deckel, 1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 großer Pot, 1 Tablespoon, 1 mittelgroßer Pot, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Sieve, 1 Bowl, 1 Whisk, 1 Fine grater, 1 flache Casserole dish (ca. 2 l Inhalt)
Preparation steps
1.
Finely grate the potatoes and onion and mix together.
2.
Put into a tea towel and wring well to extract the liquid.
3.
Mix the potato and onion with the flour, egg, salt and pepper.
4.
Heat the oil in a frying pan to a depth of 1cm|1/2" then place heaped tablespoons of the mixture into the pan. Cook over a medium heat, flattening each latke with the back of a spoon for about 5 minutes on each side, turning over when the edges are golden-brown.
5.
Remove from the pan and drain on absorbent kitchen paper.
6.
Serve the latkes hot with soured cream and apple sauce
