Preparation steps

For the cake, beat the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Gradually stir in the egg yolks until the mixture is pale yellow, then fold in the poppy seeds and almonds.

Beat the egg whites with baking powder and salt until stiff, then stir in 2 tablespoons sugar. Fold the egg whites into the wet mixture.

Pour the mixture into a loaf pan that has been previously greased and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Bake in a preheated oven (180°C or approximately 350°F) for 80-90 minutes. Remove, let cool in the pan, then remove from the pan and leave to cool.

4.

Mix the cream with the powdered sugar to form a thick glaze. Decorate the cake with the glaze, then allow the glaze to solidify and serve.
