750 grams Beef brisket
400 grams starchy potatoes
4 carrots
2 onions
2 Parsnips
½ Celery root
¼ young White cabbage
1 stalk Leeks
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
½ l Beef broth (from a jar)
2 Tbsps chopped parsley
1 tsp Caraway
salt

Preparation steps

Rinse meat and cut into uniformly-sized cubes. Peel and chop potatoes, celery root and onions. Peel carrots and parsley root and cut into slices and/or cubes. Rinse and trim leek and cut crosswise into rings. Rinse cabbage and cut into strips. Heat oil in a large saucepan. In batches, cook meat on all sides. Remove and keep warm.

Layer meat, potatoes and other vegetables in the pot. Season each layer with salt, pepper and caraway seeds. Pour broth over meat and vegetables. Cover and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (approximately 350°F), about 1 1/2 hours. Serve sprinkled with parsley.
