- 8 cups Penne
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 clove garlic cloves
- 2 Fennel bulb (trimmed and sliced)
- 3 cups chopped Tomatoes
- 1 ¼ cups Tuna (tinned in brine, drained)
- 2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Gruyere (grated)

Preparation steps
1.
Cook the pasta in a large pan of salted water until tender then drain well and set aside in warm place.
2.
While the pasta is cooking, heat the oil in a frying pan and gently cook the garlic and sliced fennel for 5 minutes, stirring from time to time, or until the fennel is soft but nor brown.
3.
Mix the fennel with the cooked pasta and tuna, season with salt and pepper and place in individual heatproof serving dishes.
4.
Heat the tomatoes in a small pan, season with salt and pepper, and a dash of Tabasco if you like a fiery kick, and pour over the pasta and tuna mix.
5.
Mix the breadcrumbs with the cheese and scatter over the top of the bakes. Grill under a hot grill for 2 - 3 minutes or until golden brown.
