- 1 organic lemon (zested and juiced)
- 500 milliliters Apple juice
- 500 milliliters Pear juice
- 200 grams sugar (or honey)
- 6 cloves
- 3 Cinnamon stick
- 1 Vanilla bean
- 300 grams Apple
- 300 grams Pear
- Rum (to taste)

Preparation steps

Rinse the lemon in hot water, finely grate the peel, and squeeze the juice. Mix the apple juice, pear juice, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and the halved vanilla pod in a pot. Bring everything to a boil.

Rinse and quarter the apples and pears, then remove the core. Thinly slice, and add to the cooking liquid. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, and cook until the fruit is soft but not falling apart.

Remove the fruit, and transfer to clean, rinsed jars. Add the rum, and bring the cooking liquid to a boil. Cover the fruit with the cooking liquid, and seal tightly. Place upside down on a damp kitchen towel for 15 seconds, then turn right side up and cool completely.
