- For the dough
- 1 ⅓ cups flour
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup Peanut butter
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup Peanuts (crushed finely in a mortar)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt (level)

Preparation steps
1.
Combine the flour with the butter, peanut butter and peanuts, add the egg, confectioners' sugar and salt and work to a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.

Press half of the dough into a square baking pan (loose-sided) and spread with strawberry conserve to within 1 cm/1/2 inch of the edge. Roll out the rest of the dough to fit the baking pan and lay on top of the filling. Press the edges together well.
3.
Whisk the egg yolk with a dash of water and glaze the top of the cake. Bake in a preheated oven (175°C/350°F, middle shelf) for about 50 minutes. Take out of the oven, release from the pan and let cool. Cut into bars to serve.
