- For the dough
- 200 grams Pastry flour
- 40 grams sugar
- 1 packet Orange zest
- 1 egg
- 100 grams butter
- For the filling
- 4-5 Oranges
- 50 grams or 1.8 ounces of soft butter and sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 heaping tsps cornstarch
- 250 grams Crème fraiche
- 1 generous pinch ground anise seed
- 1 tsp Orange zest
- For dusting
- powdered sugar
Preparation steps

For the dough: Combine flour, sugar and orange peel. Add egg and pieces of butter. Combine with a pastry cutter, then knead into a smooth dough. Divide dough in half. Roll out each half on a floured surface. Grease 2 tart molds (18 cm or 7 inches in diameter) and line with dough. Prick dough several times with a fork. Chill for 1 hour.

For the filling: Peel and slice orange. Combine orange slices, butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, cornstarch, cream, aniseed and orange zest and stir until smooth. Divide into 2 tarts and bake in an oven preheated to 220°C (approximately 425°F) for about 30 minutes.
Remove and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
