2 ¼ cups Basmati rice
1 ⅛ cups Brown Lentils
2 onions (finely sliced)
2 Tbsps Oil
1 Tbsp butter
1 pinch ground allspice
1 pinch Curry powder
1 Tbsp light soy sauce

Preparation steps

1.
Cook the rice according to the package instructions, rinse in cold water and drain.
2.
Cook the lentils according to the package instructions, rinse in cold water and drain.
3.
Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan and slowly fry the onions, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelised. Stir in the allspice and curry powder and cook for 2 minutes.
4.
Add the rice and lentils and fry all together for about 3-4 minutes. Add salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste and serve.
