500 grams Mountain cheese
8 slices Toast
10 Cornichons
freshly ground peppers
Mixed pickles (for serving)

Preparation steps

1.

Remove rind from the cheese and crust from the toasted bread. Cut both into bite-size cubes. Cut the pickles in half crosswise.

2.

Alternately thread cornichons, cheese and bread.

3.

Cook the skewers on a hot grill while turning until the cheese begins to melt. Immediately sprinkle with pepper and serve.
