Preparation

Kitchen utensils

1 Pot, 2 Small pots, 1 Baking sheet, 1 Small bowl, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Fine-mesh sieve, 1 Slotted spoon, 1 Slotted spatula, 1 Brush, 1 Grill pan, 1 Plastic wrap, 1 Citrus juicer

Preparation steps

1.
Peel, core and cut the apples into small wedges.
2.
Put the cornflour in a flat dish. Dredge the apple wedges in the cornflour.
3.
Heat the oil in a saucepan. (To test if the oil is hot enough: put the handle of a cooking spoon into the hot oil. If bubbles begin to form, it's ready. ) Add the apple wedges and fry until gold brown -- approximately 3 minutes.
4.
Transfer the fried apple to absorbent paper towel.
5.
Pour all but a very thin layer of oil from the pan.
6.
Over a low flame, add the sugar and 2 to 3 tablespoons of water. Stir continuously until the sugar melts and the caramel begins to bubble. Put the apples back in the pan and coat them with the caramel.
7.
Immediately divide the apples evenly among the dishes. Garnish with mint.
