- 1 medium, red Cabbage (leaves chopped)
- 2 large onions (chopped)
- 16 ozs cooking Apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
- 1 clove garlic cloves (crushed)
- ½ tsp grated Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- 3 Tbsps dark brown sugar
- salt
- peppers
- 3 Tbsps Red wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- ⅛ cup butter
Product recommendation
You can chop the red cabbage in a food processor.
Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 150°C (130° fan) 300°F gas 2. Grease a baking dish.
2.
Layer the cabbage, onions and apples, in the baking dish, sprinkling each layer with the garlic, spices and sugar and lightly seasoning each layer with salt and pepper
3.
Mix the wine vinegar with the lemon juice and pour over the contents of the dish. Dot with the butter and cover tightly.
4.
Cook for 2-2 1/2 hours, stirring once during the cooking time.
