- 400 grams Pickled cucumber (peeled, halved and cut into pieces)
- 2 Apple (peeled, cored and diced)
- 1 small onion (finely diced)
- 125 grams raisins
- ground cloves
- ½ tsp black peppers
- 1 tsp ginger (grated)
- 1 garlic clove (crushed)
- 1 tsp salt
- 250 milliliters red Wine vinegar
- 175 milliliters sugar

1 In a pot, combine cucumbers, apples, onion, raisins, spices, ginger, garlic and salt. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes. (Stirring will prevent ingredients from sticking to the bottom of the pan).

2 Add the vinegar and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture takes on a jam-like consistency. Stir in sugar, season to taste, and bring to a boil. Pour into sterilised jars. Close tightly and turn upside down to cool.
