Preparation steps

Peel and halve garlic or cut into pieces. Rinse, core and dice tomatoes. Rinse basil, shake dry and strip leaves from stems. Cut basil into thin strips. Combine tomatoes and basil in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.

Cut ciabatta into 8 slices and place directly on the oven rack. Broil, watching carefully, until golden-brown on both sides, 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven and rub one side of each piece with the cut side of the garlic. To serve, drizzle with olive oil and divide tomatoes and basil (without liquid) over slices.
