- 1 cup shelled Pecan
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ⅔ cup powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup softened butter (plus extra for pan)

Dry roast the pecans in a skillet set over medium heat. Cool and finely chop. Set aside.

Combine the flour, sugar and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the flour mixture and chopped pecans and knead into a smooth dough.

Grease a fluted tart pan preferably with a removable bottom. Press the dough into the greased pan and cover with plastic wrap. Chill for at least 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
4.
Position the oven rack to the middle position. Preheat oven to 300º F.
5.
Deeply score the chilled dough into 14 to 16 pieces. Pierce the top of the dough with a wooden toothpick and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until golden brown. Place the pan on a wire rack and cut the slices all the way through. Cool and dust with confectioners' sugar. Serve.
