1 ⅕ kilograms yellow Crab apple
1 lemon (juiced)
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch ground ginger
500 grams jam sugar (2: 1)
1 centiliter white Rum

Preparation steps

Remove any stems or flowers from the crab apples and rinse thoroughly. Place in a pot with a little water (about 80 mL, approximately 3 ounces) and lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Simmer about 10 minutes until crab apples are soft. Mash with the potato masher

Add cinnamon, ginger and jam sugar. Bring to a boil and cook 4 minutes, stirring constantly so jam does not scorch. Remove from heat, stir in rum and pour into prepared jars.
