colored Sugar ball

Preparation steps

Knead together the flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter and egg to form a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in cling film and chill in the refrigerator for around 30 minutes.

Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6 and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of around 0.4 cm and cut out shapes using assorted cutters, e. g. letters or hearts. Place the biscuits on the baking tray and bake for around 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.

Stir together the icing sugar and lemon juice to form a fairly runny icing, and spread this over the biscuits. Scatter with sugar balls and leave to dry.
