½ cup butter (or margarine)
1.333 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground Nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
1 cup Granny Smith Apple (peeled; cored and finely diced)
1 cup raisins
1 cup shelled, chopped Walnut (optional)
¼ cup milk

Preparation steps

1.
Preheat oven to 400º F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and blend until completely incorporated.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Stir half of the dry ingredients into the creamed ingredients. Fold in apples, raisins and nuts. Add remaining dry ingredients and milk. Mix well.
4.
Using a tablespoon, drop a spoonful of cookie batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing 1 1/2 to 2-inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are cooked through and golden.
5.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Serve.
