Cider Chicken
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 1 chicken (1.2 kilograms)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 2 tsps Curry powder
- 2 onions
- 1 pc ginger (2-3 cm)
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 200 milliliters Cider
- 200 milliliters Chicken broth
- 2 Apple
- 200 milliliters Whipped cream
Preparation steps
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F).
Rinse the chicken, pat dry, cut into quarters and rub the skin with salt, pepper and curry powder. Peel and chop the onions and ginger. Place the chicken quarters, skin side up, in a roasting pan. Drizzle with the oil and cook for 15 minutes in the oven. Pour in the cider and some broth. Cook for about 15 minutes.
Peel, halve and remove the seeds from the apples. Cut them into wedges. Add the apples to the roasting pan and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Remove the roasting pan from the oven and remove the apple slices and chicken pieces. Pour the juices through a sieve into a small saucepan. Place the chicken and apple slices back into the roasting pan and keep warm in the oven (switch the temperature off). Pour the cream into the juices and stir until creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Serve the chicken with the apples and drizzled in gravy.
